About AnkaraAnkara has a history dating back to the Bronze Age. The name means "Anchor". It was declared the capitla of the New Turkish Replublic in 1923. Near the gate of the castle is the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations containing priceless artifacts belonging to the Paleolithic and Neolitic eras.
